Cheerleading sideline/competitive cheer help?

Okay so I am in 7th grade, and i have never done cheer before. I SIGNED UP (not tried out) for my local cheer division, (Jacksonville Falcons) :) and I am deciding whether to do competitive or sideline or both. Like I said, i have NEVER done competitive before, and I dont want to be the laughing stock of the team.
