How can I move on from him?

so i have been pretty infatuated with this guy for about 6 months now and now we are both leaving for college. i really like him and nothing has happened. i am so upset because i feel like he is so great that nobody will ever measure up to him and i will just long for him forever. how can i just move on and stop obsessing over him. i feel like i love him but i know that i am surely not in love.
