Will pimples go away when I grow older?

I'm 16 years old right now and my pimples are...pretty bad. I'm taking stuff to get rid of it, but nothing's working...in fact, I think it might be getting worse. So now I'm holding onto the hope that it'll go away in a few years. It's not a hereditary thing cause no one else in my family has acne as bad as mine. :/
