Do you lose all your rights when you become a celebrity?

I feel like celebrities lose all personal privacy. I just saw a taped conversation of mel gibson and his wife over financial issues on the news. Seems like a private issue that should be kept out of the public eye. Then again we're at war and the media is worried about mel gibsons financial problems with his wife and Lindsay lohans jail sentance. ugh
