How easy is it to really switch off turn around and walk the other way when it comes to family being bigots?

havent spoken to my extended {so called}family for the last 8 years due to there bigotry because when i decided that it was time to be honest with myself they didnt like it as for how easy was it to switch off my feelings pretend they are dead thats what i did one of the so called family lives 10 mins walk away and i actually have a new circle of friends that dont even know we are related as for who do you trust when you cant trust family well thats not easy as i dont trust anyone these days that way i cant get burned
