I need help on a project for my daughter?

my daughter is doing a project on christmas in france,we need to have great detail in the ornaments that are placed on the tree,this is something that we have to hand make.im not sure if france has regular christmas ornaments on their trees and also the people that celebrate christmas do they exchange gifts and is the way americans exchange there gifts to one another? if anyone could please help me i would greatly appreciate it
